Episode 7 left me with one question: will there actually be any budding romance between the leads?
Seok Joo and Ji Yoon have many scenes together, mostly because both had been working hard on Jung Hye Ryeong's case. Of course, no one would expect any less from Seok Joo. He managed to spot many discrepancies in the evidence submitted by the prosecution, which led Jung Hye Ryeong to be declared innocent. I wonder why the prosecution was so keen on getting her convicted. I know they're meant to be on the side of the 'innocent' but why try to force Jung Hye Ryeong to admit to murder? And to even lure her with the promise of getting her out early if she admits to having pushed the guy when she didn't? Quite filthy really. I don't like the look of the prosecutor. I wonder if he'll be appearing in future episodes.
Lee Sun Hee is pretty impressed and happy with Seok Joo's transformation into a human. When she shook hands with Seok Joo after he won the case, I had a brief hope for a moment they might meet again one day and work together amicably. I quite like the actress for Lee Sun Hee, Kim Suh Hyung. She's able to adapt into her roles easily and carry them with grace. The last drama I saw her in was History of the Salaryman (since I didn't continue on with Empress Ki). She played her role perfectly there, too. I was fooled by her from the start until it became apparent she wasn't just all we saw on the surface.
Back to the law firm. I think Cha Young Woo isn't all he appears to be. He is exactly like what Ji Yoon described him as: cool, handsome, smart, etc. But there's something about him that's dangerous. Especially when he said he could deal with Seok Joo's resignation letter at any time. He only needed to find the right time. Doesn't that ring warning bells? It seems to me he's going to take advantage of Seok Joo's resignation letter, from ages ago, and use it at a time when Seok Joo might just need the support of the firm. Initially, I thought he was too invested in Seok Joo and believed in Seok Joo's abilities to a great extent. Seems like he realised his mistake and wants to take control of the law firm again. To show who's the boss. After all, Seok Joo rejected a case worth so many billions for Jung Hye Ryeong, who didn't have to pay him for representing her. It also made that conglomerate company withdraw many suits under Cha Young Woo's firm. I get a feeling he's going to make Seok Joo beg to stay in the firm. Seok Joo's amnesia means he doesn't remember any of his cases from the past and his relationship with the people he represented. How can he join another law firm if he is pretty clueless about everything?
Talking about being clueless, Seok Joo didn't recognise his fiancee who waltzed into the law firm looking for him. Well, well, Chae Jung Ahn finally appears as Yoo Jung Sun. Not much is known about her yet, but it seems Seok Joo probably didn't have romantic feelings for her. Before his memory loss, there was no peep or squeak of her existance. He even let Ji Yoon drag him to her house during the wedding back then. It's been said he's going to believe his relationship with Jung Sun grew from romance. I wonder how this will pan out when he spends more time with Ji Yoon (after all, they live next to each other).
Yoo Jung Sun shows up in episode 7, so when will the relationship between Seok Joo and Ji Yoon reach its peak? Seok Joo and Ji Yoon already have the perfect setting to develop a romance. Ji Yoon will probably be jealous when she finds out about Seok Joo's engagement. She's been warming up to the new Seok Joo more and more each time she sees a humane side to him.
Ji Yoon hasn't really realised her change in feelings yet because she's still infatuated by her charming prince Ji Won. I like how Ji Won acknowledged her presence during Jung Hye Ryeong's trial. It wasn't anything obvious, but it was enough for us to see he actually does notice Ji Yoon and probably thinks well of her. Ji Yoon was obviously taken aback by his position as a judge. I get a feeling he shot up a few ranks in her eyes. It made me recall how Lee Sun Hee was looking on with surprise when Ji Won and Ji Yoon were talking? "How does this intern actually know a court judge?"
It'll be fascinating to see more Ji Won-Ji Yoon interaction, especially in Seok Joo's presence.
