I skipped episode 2 just so I could finally watch the moment when Dong Joo and Soo Wan meet as adults. I'm not so into this drama, but it was refreshing from the dark, angsty mood in Hotel King.
I didn't recognise the actor for Dong Joo, Lee Sang Yoon. I thought, "Who's this good-looking dude?" and searched the drama's cast, only to find he also acted as the prince in Jung-Yi. No wonder! I thought he was dashing in Jung-Yi, too.
Dong Joo doesn't seemed to have changed too much from his young self. He still smiles alot and remembers all the places in Korea with fondness. The scene with him in the hospital is a little cliche, though. How many times have we seen a doctor-to-be get yelled at for interrupting or interfering with treatments in the emergency room? Only difference is Dong Joo is really sweet and genuinely concerned about the patient. He doesn't try to do anything on his own either.
Dong Joo goes about under the name of 'Dylan Park'. He coincidentally overhears Soo Wan's supervisor calling for her while they were on a resuce mission. From that moment on, Dong Joo keeps an eye on Soo Wan and visits her at her workplace. But he doesn't say who he is, of course. Instead, he smiles super charmingly and asks for the direction to the observatory.
Soo Wan seems to have settled into a steady life as well. She gets on well with her colleagues and is well-known at the police station. Her best friend is a detective at the police station. She's got a fiance, none other than the hospital's Director's son, Ji Woon.
Dong Joo's heart breaks at this knowledge. And his dad is such a prick. Although well-meaning, he doesn't understand what's best for Soo Wan and Dong Joo. Not only that, he has a big secret to hide from Dong Joo. How can he go about living like this, so secretly?
Another thing I always felt was present was a possible love line between Dong Joo's dad and Ji Woon's mom. I don't know why but I feel both understand each other too well. There's something right there, but it may just be me.
